PNS Hunain: Pakistan Navy Offshore Patrol Vessel

PNS Hunain (F-273) is a Yarmook-class Batch-II offshore patrol vessel operated by the Pakistan Navy. Unlike the earlier Yarmook and Tabuk vessels, the Batch-II ships are based on Damen’s larger OPV 2600 design. PNS Hunain was built at Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania and commissioned in July 2024. Pakistan formally inducted the vessel into its fleet in September 2024.

The ship is intended for maritime security, surveillance, patrol, and a range of naval support missions. Pakistan Navy has described PNS Hunain as a multipurpose vessel equipped with electronic warfare, anti-ship and anti-air warfare capabilities, along with terminal defense and self-protection systems. It can also support a medium-sized helicopter, expanding its surveillance and maritime response capabilities.

PNS Hunain was constructed by Damen Shipyards Galati, Romania, using the Damen OPV 2600 design. The design emphasizes endurance, maritime patrol, modular mission support, and operation in challenging sea conditions.
