Dovbush T40: Ukraine’s Long Range Strategic Drone

The Dovbush T40 is a Ukrainian long range unmanned aircraft designed for missions well beyond the immediate front line. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense formally codified the system in August 2026, clearing it for use by the country’s Defense Forces. The strategic level UAV is intended for deep reconnaissance, artillery fire correction, and precision attacks against enemy facilities, equipment, and personnel.

The T40 was developed by a Ukrainian manufacturer that has previously produced the Dovbush T20 and Kotyhoroshko UAVs. Those systems have reportedly been used in combat since 2022. The manufacturer has not been publicly identified in the available official specifications.

Range, Endurance and Capabilities

The Dovbush T40 has a wingspan of nearly 5 meters and an officially stated flight range of more than 2,000 kilometers. Ukraine’s Defense Ministry also reports an endurance of more than 24 hours, giving the aircraft the ability to conduct long duration missions at considerable distances from its launch area.

The aircraft reportedly features an electronically fuel injected high performance engine, very low radar visibility, and significant resistance to electronic warfare. Its mission configuration can support reconnaissance and artillery adjustment, while strike configurations allow it to either drop munitions or operate as a one way attack drone.

Cost and Availability

A public unit price has not been disclosed by Ukraine’s Defense Ministry. Payload capacity, maximum speed, detailed dimensions, engine model, and production quantities also remain undisclosed in publicly available official specifications.
