Powered by a 1,000 hp MTU MT 881 Ka-500 (or equivalent Korean) diesel engine, the K9A2 achieves a maximum road speed of approximately 67 km/h and an operational range of around 360 km. Its hydropneumatic suspension and robust tracked chassis provide excellent off-road performance. The 155mm/52-caliber gun offers a maximum range of about 40 km with conventional ammunition and up to 50+ km with extended-range or precision-guided munitions like the M982 Excalibur.
