eJLTV Tactical EV Combat Vehicle

The eJLTV is the hybrid-electric evolution of the widely deployed Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) family developed for modern battlefield mobility and survivability. Designed by Oshkosh Defense, the eJLTV integrates advanced hybrid-electric technology with the proven armor protection and off-road capability of the standard JLTV platform.

The vehicle was introduced as part of the U.S. military’s push toward reduced fuel dependency, lower acoustic signatures, and increased onboard power generation for future combat systems. The eJLTV retains the combat-proven structure of the JLTV while adding silent mobility, exportable power capability, and improved fuel efficiency.

Manufacturer

The eJLTV is manufactured by Oshkosh Defense in the United States. Oshkosh Defense is known for producing tactical wheeled vehicles for the U.S. Army and allied armed forces, including the JLTV, HEMTT, and FMTV families.

Speed and Range

The eJLTV can reach speeds of approximately 70 mph (113 km/h) on paved roads while maintaining strong off-road performance. Its hybrid-electric propulsion system improves fuel efficiency by roughly 20 percent compared to the standard JLTV. Operational range is estimated at more than 300 miles (480 km), depending on terrain and mission profile.

A major advantage is its silent drive mode, which allows limited electric-only movement for reconnaissance and covert operations.

Cost / Price

Exact procurement pricing for the eJLTV has not been officially disclosed. Analysts estimate the vehicle could cost between USD 450,000 and USD 600,000 per unit depending on mission configuration, armor package, and electronic systems.
