THUNDART Rocket System: Long Range Precision Strike
THUNDART is a next-generation long-range ground-to-ground rocket artillery system developed under France’s FLP-T program. Designed by MBDA in partnership with Safran Electronics & Defense, it is intended to replace aging French LRU rocket systems and restore deep strike capability for high intensity warfare. The system focuses on precision, mobility, and resilience in electronic warfare environments, including GNSS jamming conditions.
THUNDART is built around a truck-mounted launcher capable of firing guided rockets with high accuracy at long distances. It is designed for rapid deployment and shoot-and-scoot survivability, reducing vulnerability to counter-battery fire.
A successful live firing was conducted in 2026, marking a key validation step in the program’s development phase.
