Lockheed Martin AN SLQ 32(V)6 Contract Update

Lockheed Martin has received a 22,595,257 dollar contract modification to support the AN SLQ 32(V)6 electronic warfare system for the US Navy and the Royal Canadian Navy. The award was issued to Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems in Liverpool, New York, under an existing Navy contract.

The modification exercises an option for Design Agent Engineering, incidental material, and travel in support of the AN SLQ 32(V)6 Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program. The work supports both US Navy platforms and Foreign Military Sales commitments to Canada.

According to the US Department of Defense contract announcement, work will be performed in Liverpool, New York, and is scheduled for completion by January 2027. If all remaining contract options are exercised, performance could extend through January 2029.

Funding Breakdown and Contract Scope

At the time of award, 3.45 million dollars will be obligated across multiple funding sources. Fiscal year 2026 Other Procurement Navy funds account for 67 percent of the total obligation. Foreign Military Sales funds from Canada represent 16 percent, while fiscal year 2026 operations and maintenance Navy funds make up 14 percent. The remaining 3 percent comes from fiscal year 2025 Other Procurement Navy funding.

Of the obligated funds, 500,000 dollars will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, DC, is the contracting activity.

AN SLQ 32(V)6 Program Background

The AN SLQ 32(V)6 is the latest configuration of the US Navy’s primary shipboard electronic warfare system. It provides advanced electronic support, electronic attack, and improved survivability against modern anti ship missile threats. Lockheed Martin serves as the system’s design agent, supporting upgrades and fleet integration.

The system is deployed across multiple US Navy surface combatants and is also being adopted by allied navies through Foreign Military Sales programs, including Canada.

Strategic Importance

This contract modification underscores continued US investment in naval electronic warfare modernization and reinforces defense cooperation with Canada. The AN SLQ 32(V)6 remains a cornerstone of allied maritime survivability and electronic warfare capability.
