Northrop Grumman has been awarded a 233 million dollar contract to produce the Advanced Lightweight Torpedo for the U.S. Navy, reinforcing ongoing efforts to modernize naval anti-submarine warfare capabilities.
According to information released by Defence Industry Europe, the contract covers production of the Advanced Lightweight Torpedo, also known as the ALWT, a key weapon used by U.S. Navy surface ships, submarines, and maritime patrol aircraft.
