USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Reflects on 2025 Achievements
As 2025 ends, US Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz reviews key accomplishments that supported Army readiness and community life in the European Theater. USAG Rheinland-Pfalz achievements 2025 span energy savings, training, infrastructure, youth programs and quality of life improvements.
At the start of the fiscal year, the garrison’s Directorate of Public Works led the Army with roughly 2.7 million in energy savings, earning 14 percent of available Resilient Energy Funding for Readiness and Modernization (REFoRM).
In late 2024, the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation’s Community Recreation Services became the first internationally accredited program recognized by the National Recreation and Park Association, setting a benchmark within Installation Management Command Europe.
Infrastructure investments included completion of a new hazardous waste facility at Germersheim Army Depot and quality of life upgrades at Sembach Kaserne, such as a 24/7 unmanned retail unit and new launderette.
In February, the Directorate of Emergency Services fire team earned Best Large Fire Department in the IMCOM-Europe region, and youth programs secured over 58,000 in grants from national organizations.
The garrison also advanced joint training, delivering a first-of-its-kind joint OPSEC II and III certification course with U.S. Air Forces Europe-Africa at Sembach Kaserne.
Major investments continued in Baumholder, where the garrison oversaw more than 1 billion in Army projects to enhance housing, schools, family facilities, postal services and future barracks and maintenance facilities.
In June, USAG Rheinland-Pfalz was honored as the top garrison in Europe and fourth worldwide in the 2024 IMCOM Best Garrison Competition for excellence in mission support, energy conservation, effective stewardship and quality of life.
USAG Rheinland-Pfalz’s 2025 achievements underscore its role in supporting soldiers, families, civilians and mission partners while enabling U.S. Army power projection in Europe.
