The firm fixed price task order was awarded to Advanced Concepts Enterprises Inc., based in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and covers a broad range of mission readiness and training support services for Air Force operations at Hurlburt Field. Work is expected to continue through Feb. 28, 2031, reinforcing long term operational support at one of the service most active special operations hubs.

The contract was awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, specifically the 765th Enterprise Sourcing Flight located at Hurlburt Field. Contract identification is FA0021 26 F 0001.

Scope of work and operational focus

Under the Advanced Concepts Enterprises mission readiness contract, the company will provide contractor support across several critical mission areas. These include operations training scheduling and planning, aviation resource management, standardization and evaluation, and information operations support.

These functions are central to maintaining readiness across complex and high tempo aviation units, particularly those aligned with Air Force Special Operations Command. Hurlburt Field hosts AFSOC headquarters and multiple flying and support units, making consistent training coordination and aviation management essential to day to day operations.

The services covered by the task order are designed to support both current operational requirements and future force readiness, ensuring aircrews and support personnel remain aligned with Air Force standards and mission demands.

Funding and contract structure

At the time of award, the Air Force obligated 6,232,790 dollars in fiscal 2026 operation and maintenance funds. Additional funding is expected to be obligated incrementally over the life of the contract as work progresses.

The contract is structured as a firm fixed price task order, a model commonly used by the Department of Defense to provide cost certainty while holding contractors accountable for performance outcomes.

According to the contract notice, four offers were received as part of the competitive process. The award was conducted as a service disabled veteran owned small business set aside, highlighting ongoing Pentagon efforts to expand participation by veteran owned firms in defense contracting.

Small business and veteran participation

Advanced Concepts Enterprises mission readiness contract reflects a broader Department of Defense policy emphasis on leveraging small business expertise, particularly firms owned by service disabled veterans. The Air Force and other services have increasingly relied on such companies to deliver specialized training, logistics, and operational support services.

Service disabled veteran owned small businesses are often viewed as bringing operational insight and mission understanding rooted in prior military experience. This perspective can be especially valuable in training and readiness roles that require close coordination with active duty units.

The competitive nature of the award, with four bids submitted, also underscores continued demand for experienced contractors capable of supporting aviation and information operations missions.

Strategic importance of Hurlburt Field

Hurlburt Field plays a central role in US Air Force special operations aviation, hosting a wide range of aircraft, training units, and command elements. Sustained contractor support in training planning, aviation resource management, and evaluation functions is considered critical to maintaining readiness in such a complex environment.

By extending support through 2031, the Advanced Concepts Enterprises mission readiness contract provides stability for long term planning and execution, while allowing the Air Force to focus uniformed personnel on operational and command responsibilities.

Broader defense contracting context

The award aligns with recent trends in Air Force contracting that emphasize readiness, training efficiency, and integration of information operations into daily mission planning. Similar contracts across the service have focused on ensuring that aviation units can adapt quickly to evolving operational demands without expanding permanent manpower.

As defense budgets continue to balance modernization investments with near term readiness needs, task orders like this remain a key tool for sustaining operational capability.
